Strong winds, broken booms, battered skippers and near drowned crew. It’s the time of the year again where Andy Küng tries to test our abilities in what used to be a lovely peaceful and tranquil afternoon glide to Stanley.
But times have changed, and is it due to global warming, we don’t know. However, at once sign up, and push your stalwart crew to the max so that you’ll be sitting inside the restaurant while late-comers have to sit in the open - and rained upon!

The Discovery Bay Yacht Club is an association of ‘yawties’ – owners and crew who enjoy occasional ‘fun and friendly’ regattas out of Discovery Bay on Lantau Island, Hong Kong.
Since our first regatta in September 1999, the DBYC has hosted regular inshore races and cruises, which have been sponsored by local businesses, restaurants and marina clubs. In this way, the prizes are many and varied, entry fees are kept low, and the beer is free!
Our aims are twofold: to draw local sailors together in friendly and social sailing events, and to introduce beginners to the fun of yacht racing.
