What great TMR sailing weather!
Lets get out on the water, quick! Here’s how...
Sailing this Saturday - all welcome. There will be a few boats sailing to the Soko Islands and back, perhaps via lunch at Cheung Chau, this Saturday. Departing at 0830, back in DB by 1700. No racing, just a relaxed sail - ideal for novices or new members. Reply asap, if you would like to come along. All welcome.
Tsing Ma Regatta - 28/29 Apr. With just 10 days to go, the entries are pouring in. Over 20 boats already, as word gets around about this fantastic event, a great weekend for all the family. All details on the web site here, or by e-mailing Paolo at TMR@dbyc.net. Heaps of very generous sponsorship means free berthing, free beer, free scoff, free shirts, free crew-bags, free coolers, and loads of prizes.
As always, motor-boats are very welcome to join in the fun. In particular, we need safety boats, big and small, to cover the two races. Entry free, for any boats assisting around the course.
ABC Classic Yacht Rally. The DBYC will be supporting the Aberdeen Boat Club’s Classic Yacht Rally on 5/6 May. Follow this link to their new web site (containing lots of pretty piccies of DBYC boats) for further details. Let’s take a fleet of DBYC boats over there, win both their races, and enjoy the famous ABC hospitality!
And, last, but not least...
DBYC Annual General Meeting. Scheduled for Wed, 25 Apr at 2000 hrs on the Bilge Bar terrace, this is your opportunity to vote in the Club’s new Executive Committee and introduce some fresh blood, new ideas. As mentioned, we are inviting volunteers to step forward - if you have any particular areas of expertise or interest and have a little time to offer, please contact sec@dbyc.net.
