Inaugural event of the annual Doc’s Dash. This is the first edition of the annual DBYC Doc’s Dash.
Entries are invited for two divisions, split equally by PN.
The entry fee will be a nominal $150 per yacht, $100 per crew member opting for the post-race Doc’s Nutrition Package (DNP). Please make cheques payable to: Discovery Bay Yacht Club, payment will be collected on the day of race (if using cash, exact amount please).
Plan for a northern islands race, then prize-giving & DNP in the vicinity of Sunshine Island beach. Prize-giving and DNP will be on two junks moored off the beach at Sunshine Island. Tenders will be available to ferry crews to the junks. DNP comprises adequate (hopefully) quantities of wine, beer and cold snacks that will be provided on the junks until approx 6 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded for Line Honours, overall winner, 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each class on corrected time. Regatta prizes will also be awarded. The ‘Rear End Trophy’, which is traditional, will be awarded on merit, as always...
Entry admin and fee payment should be completed from 09.00-09.30 on the Marina Club Bilge Bar terrace on 11th September. The race briefing will begin at 09.30 hrs sharp - no delays. The race will start will start at 11.30 hrs within a mile of the marina entrance, allowing adequate time for preparation after the briefing.
