Entries are invited for the 2009 Tsing Ma Regatta, 12th edition, racing from Discovery Bay to the Gold Coast and return, over the weekend of 2/3 May 2009. Going back to the traditional route the Regatta is sponsored by the Discovery Bay Marina Club (DBMC) and the Gold Coast Yacht and Country Club (GCYCC).
The outline of events is as follows:

| 1100 | Race 1 - DB to Gold Coast. Starting off DB and rounding Peng Chau, Kau Yi Chau, Ma Wan Channel, rounding The Brothers and finishing in the vicinity of Gold Coast Marina entrance. | |
| 1600 | Dockside meet-and-greet on arrival at Gold Coast Marina. | |
| 1900 | Buffet dinner at GCYCC Voyagers Restaurant ($200 or $110 age 12 and under). | |
| 2100 | Prize-giving party at the Gold Coast Marina Marquee. | |
| Sunday, 3rd May |
0800 | Buffet breakfast in the Gold Coast Voyagers Restaurant ($70). |
| 0900 | Race briefing in the Gold Coast Marina Clubhouse. | |
| 1030 | First start, Race 2 - pursuit race from Gold Coast to DB. Starting in the vicinity of Gold Coast Marina entrance Rounding CP5, Kau Yi Chau, Hei Ling Chau to finish off DB. | |
| 1400 | Beer-call alongside at DBMC. | |
| 1500 | Headland party at DB Marina Club. Bar and simple menu pay as you go. The party will commence at 4 but the hour is flexible depending upon arrival time of the Committee Boat and the calculations by the handicapping committee. |
The regatta entry fee of $400 ($200 for single-race entry) includes dockside beers.
Discovery Bay and Gold Coast Marina Clubs are kindly sponsoring the event and berthing at both marinas will be free for competitors during the weekend of the race. Berths at DB Marina are subject to availability of berths and allocated on a first book basis. Motor vessels are welcome (entry gratis), assisting as guard vessels. Race entries will be accepted up to Wed 29th Apr. Entries after that date may still be accepted with payment of a late entry fee, but please book as soon as possible, so that berthing, shore power and catering can be arranged.
Boats may join the Regatta at any stage - at Discovery Bay on Friday evening for the Bilge Bar 'happy hour' and AGM, Saturday morning in time for Race 1, or Gold Coast on Sunday for Race 2. Prizes will be awarded for each of two Divisions in each race. Prizes will also be awarded for Line Honours and for overall, employing the modified Low Point scoring system.
A limited number of rooms have been reserved in the adjacent Gold Coast Hotel at a special regatta rate of $900 including tax and breakfast, available on a first come, first served basis. Contact the Reservations Department direct, Ms Joky Kwok, Tel: (852)2452-8312 Fax: (852)2377-3700, (ask for Joky if necessary) to get this special rate.
Category 4 safety regulations, as amended by the Sailing Instructions, will be enforced. Boats should have a reliable auxiliary engine, a mobile phone and be VHF equipped if possible.
