SMALL BOAT SERIES
JUNE 30, 2018
This is the 4th event in the newly created and popular Small Boat Series. All eligible boats under 30' are eligible to join this event which will be a short race around the northern islands in the vicinity of Discovery Bay. Race starts outside the marina at 12pm. Entry fee is $150 per boat.
BARTS BASH
SEPTEMBER 16, 2018
A global sailing race taking place at 100s of venues, with 1000s of sailors in 100s of different classes of boat around the world. The event was founded in 2014 and verified by Guinness World Records as ‘The Largest Sailing Race in the World’.
Bart’s Bash gives the sailing community a united opportunity to remember Andrew 'Bart' Simpson, a double Olympic medallist who tragically lost his life whilst training for the America’s Cup in 2013.
The Andrew Simpson Foundation (ASF) uses this event alongside being a memorial, for an annual fundraising and participation campaign to allow them to achieve their charitable aims each year.
DBYC REGATTA
OCTOBER 27, 2018
The DBYC Regatta is the clubs annual signature event. The race course will be selected on the day depending on wind conditions and will feature a route around the islands between North Lantau and Hong Kong. The event is organised by our commodore Nik, who will be gutted that he has to sit out the racing on the committee boat.
DOC'S DASH
NOVEMBER 10, 2018
This popular race is organised by Dr. James Oliver every year and will follow an islands course in the vicinity of Discovery Bay, Hei Ling Chau, Peng Chau and Datum Rock. Race briefing is at 9:30 am in the DB marina Club. Entry fee is $150 per boat.
